Atmosphere Mr Natural has two great locations. The east location is located in an extremely funky working class neighborhood across the street from a tire shop. There is a Hispanic supplement store included in the restaurant. The south location on Lamar is a bit lighter and roomier. Both locations share a pleasant, healthy atmosphere. The staff is busy but fairly friendly. |

Food There is a small refrigerator section that has a few packaged foods such as breaded eggplant and seitan patties. There is a cafeteria like area where one can select items for the daily special; this consists of a choice of a salad (usually cucumber, spinach, or garden), an entree (usually a variety of tamales including tofu, cheese/jalapeno, etc. or a burrito or another tofu dish), and two side dishes (grilled veggies, brown rice, pinto beans, cactus, gordita, etc.) The food is fresh and mildly spicy. There are also some great ala carte items such as veggie burgers, seitan sandwiches, and others. Drinks are great too with fresh lemonade and some unusual mixtures such as spinach/pineapple. If you enjoy Tex-Mex vegetarian food, Mr. Natural will win you over. It was one of the main reasons I moved to Austin. |
